With the Reform Party increasingly touted to be the next party in power. We took the time to research what they believe about the most fundamental life and death issues.

At last years conference we interviewed 80 party members and encouragingly this is what we found:

  • 72% of respondents didn’t know about the 250,000 abortions carried out annually in the UK.

  • 67% didn’t know that 10 million abortions have taken place since 1967.

  • 65% agreed UK abortion law needs urgent reform.

  • 58% of Reform Party members support a UK heartbeat bill, with higher support if exceptions are included.

  • 54% believe current abortion law contributes to the immigration crisis.

In light of this majority support, we submitted the following motion for the party conference, which regrettably was not selected:

“Reform UK’s National Conference calls for Reform MPs to spearhead the introduction of the first UK heartbeat bill, protecting babies in the womb from the moment of a detectable heartbeat in non-extreme cases.”

If you are a reform party member please do raise this as a discussion point in questions, debate and in conversation over the conference period.

Please also be informed that we are still awaiting the publication of an independent government petition concerning a potential heart beat bill. This petition is seeking to gain public support for a bill that will protect babies in the womb, in non extreme cases, from the moment of a detectable heartbeat. Full details of which can be found at heartbeatbill.co.uk once published.
